About this site

Over the years, most of the eBay bids I’ve made have been for practical things, like baby gear, books or throw rugs. Yet the items I remember best are the ones that the seller took the time to explain the meaning — or the mystery — of. There was the family that demolished a ceiling and found a bra strangely embedded in it. Or the cheap Target kid shelves that a woman put up for sale after her marriage fell apart due to her husband’s sex addiction, which she wrote about in detail.

Plenty of sites follow eBay’s weirdest  auctions – that is not my intention. I intend to locate the most storied items for sale at eBay and elsewhere – the pieces with a narrative attached that give us a peep into the life of someone else.

Auction Chronicles is compiled and penned by freelance writer Tracy Zollinger Turner.  Her professional web site is Writearm.com, and her personal blog is Tiny Mantras. If you have a item to suggest from eBay or any other auction site, or you want to advertise on auctionchronicles.com, please send an email to lookyhere(at)auctionchronicles(dot)com.
