When Ruthie was a little girl, she had an imaginary friend named “Queen” that she liked to play-cook with. While living in her childhood home with her young son, she was surprised he suddenly developed an imaginary friend named “Queen” that he liked to play-cook with a couple of years ago. Recently, when Ruthie’s mother died, she found an antique, cast-iron play stove in her attic branded with the name “Queen.”
But the boy, perhaps wisely, has developed a fear of “Queen,” so the stove is for sale, put up by Ruthie’s friend “Beverly2107,” who regularly sells knick-knacks on eBay. Ruthie and Beverly2107 tried in vain to get “Queen” to play with them, but it’s possible that when they try to say anything, Queen hears that wah-wah-wah-wah voice that the Peanuts gang hears when adults speak. Or that she speaks in a “Mosquito ring tone” frequency. Or that she’s a fairy.
Whatever the case, Ruthie and Beverly2107 are distressed that Queen no longer has a playmate, so they are hoping that some parent will buy the stove for a young child who is longing for an imaginary ghost playmate. Phew. If you click through and read the post, you will soon understand that paraphrasing this auction was harder than it looked.
